SE Ranking took 2nd place according to a post by Search Engine Journal. I disagree with the assessment in the snippet above that to track multiple websites you need the $39/month plan. On the Personal 50 plan, which I enrolled for $5/month with a coupon code, I can monitor up to 5 websites. It’s a great way to get a powerful suite of SEO tools and scale accordingly as your business grows.
SEJ’s overall ranking is calculated based on 13 different factors, each with a max rating of 5. SE Ranking received an average overall rating of 4.5. That is only slightly below the #1 ranked tool, Agency Analytics, which received a 4.69 rating. Probably the most recognized tool of the list, SEMRush, took 3rd place with a 4.4 rating. While I’m not familiar with Agency Analytics, they do seem to offer an impressive set of tools based from their product overview video.
I think an important aspect of any cloud-based software is the dialog between developer and customer. In that regard, the SE Ranking team is excellent. They offer several avenues of communication and regularly ask for direct feedback on their service. It’s not uncommon to see several updates to the platform over the course of a year.
